About the Face of Comedy:
This work comprises about three hundred portraits and was created over the space of four years. They are in a wide variety of media and styles that attempt to reflect the personality of the comic depicted. The originals are mostly 8" by 12" in size, seen here in a smaller size at 72dpi. The portraits are of comics from across the century, chosen either because the artist finds them funny, or because their biographies are interesting. The comics are listed by the decade they reached prominence or by the decade their fame peaked.
The page that shows the comic's portrait is linked to another website by clicking on the comic's name. Use it to find out more about the most important comics of the century.
